KOSBED, which has been published twice a year since 1997 by Kocaeli University Institute of Social Sciences, aims to contribute to the scientific literature as an important reference tool and to be among the main sources. Other aims of our journal are:
• To include studies in the fields of Social Sciences and to bring studies such as research article, case report, compilation, translation, conference paper, short paper, letter to the editor, note, meeting summary, law review, decision review, book review, book review, revision, editorial, biography, bibliography, news and reports to the scientific world
• To share the progress and changes in the field of Social Sciences with the whole world, especially Turkey
• To be an academic reference source where qualified and accurate information about Social Sciences is presented
• To increase the citation rates of articles by increasing the prevalence of articles in Turkey and in the world with the open access journal system, databases, indexes and DOI numbers.
• To provide easy and unlimited access to scientists and readers by being scanned by more databases and indexes

In the journal; research article, case report, review, translation, conference paper, short paper, letter to the editor, note, meeting summary, law review, decision review, book review, book review, revision, editorial, biography, bibliography, news, report, art and articles in literary genres can be published.
Having scientific qualifications at national and international level; In KOSBED, where studies in the fields of economics, business administration, finance, finance, political science, international relations, and public administration are published, each article goes through a double-blind review process after the evaluation of the journal commission.
Blind review system is applied in our journal. The names of both authors and referees are kept confidential. The editorial board of the journal can use the right to reject the article when the result of any of the reviewer reports is rejected and when the other referee requests a significant change. In case of equality, a third reviewer is determined for the evaluation of the article and the final decision is made. reviewer recommendations are sent to the relevant author or authors. If the requested corrections are not made within 1 month, the editorial board may decide to drop the article from the publication process, if it deems appropriate. The peer-review process is 2 months and the final evaluation process of the article is 4 months. Manuscripts that have passed the peer-review process can be published in any number that the editorial board deems appropriate.

1. Submitted articles should be written in the MS Word program and the title (Turkish and English), abstract (Turkish and English), keywords (Turkish and English), JEL Codes for the relevant science fields, main text (introduction, method, findings, discussion, and conclusion), references and appendices, if any.
2. The article should be uploaded anonymously, without the author's information; In addition, an additional cover file should be prepared and uploaded to the system separately. In the cover file, the Turkish and English titles should be centered on the page one after the other, the first letters should be capitalized, Book Antiqua should be written in 10 pt and bold letters. In the cover file, just below the titles, name and surname of the author(s) should be written in 9 pt, aligned to the right; contact information and e-mail addresses should be in 9 pt in footnotes.
3. On the first page of the article file to be prepared anonymously; The Turkish and English titles of the article should be centered on the page one after the other, the first letters should be capitalized, Book Antiqua should be written in 10 pt and bold letters. The Turkish Abstract consisting of 100-150 words, respectively and 9 pt. Five Keywords and at least one JEL Code must be written for the articles belonging to the appropriate disciplines. Just below the Abstract, Keywords and JEL codes; English title and Abstract, Keywords and JEL Codes should be written in accordance with the same rules. Comments or acknowledgments about authors and work are written in footnotes. This section should not exceed 1 page in total.
4. Title, Turkish and English abstracts, keywords, and JEL Codes should be arranged to fit on the first page; the second page should start with the Introduction. Beginning from the introduction page; except for headings, graphics, and tables, the text parts should be written in 10 pt and, with a margin of 1 cm at the beginning of the paragraph.
5. The text should be written in A4 format and 10 pt, 0nk before and after the paragraph spacing, 1.1 line spacing, and with Book Antiqua font. When necessary, the explanation notes at the bottom of the page should be written in 9 points. The page structure should be 5.5 cm from the top and bottom, 4.5 cm from the left and right, and aligned on both sides.
6. Direct citations should be put in quotes. Citations less than five lines should be written between the lines, and long citations should be written one centimeter from the left and right of the line, in blocks and with a single line spacing.
7. Section titles and subheadings should be capitalized, bold, and left-aligned. Section headings should be numbered 1., 2., 3. excluding Introduction and Conclusion.
Formulas and equations should be numbered starting from one at the beginning of the article. The numbers of the formula or equation should be written in parentheses and aligned to the far right of the line.
Tables, graphics and figures should be numbered from the beginning to the end of the article (such as Table 1: and Graphic 1:), and should be named after two points in bold and with capital letters. The titles of the tables, graphics, and figures should be at the top of them and centered. If the table, graphic, and figure are taken from another source, the source should be indicated with 9 pt just below. Footnotes and references should be in accordance with the principles on the journal website.
8. In accordance with the publication principles of our journal, the Similarity (Plagiarism) Report for the paper must be uploaded to the system during the application to be made from the "Submit an Article" page on the DergiPark System. The similarity report to be uploaded to the system must be taken from the iThenticate-Plagiarism Detection Software program. The report should have the following features:
• In order for the article to be evaluated, the similarity rate in the report should not exceed 15%.
• The similarity report should be obtained by arranging the filtering options in the iThenticate program as follows:
o References excluded
o Citations excluded
o Except for parts of text with less than 5 words of overlap (Limit match size to 5 words)
o Other filtering options in the program menu are not included in the reporting.
• The report should be saved as ".pfd".

9. Since there is a blind review in the journal, there should not be any information about the authors on the main text of the article. In addition to these files, which are defined as article files, Copyright Approval Form, Author Contribution and Conflict of Interest Form must be filled in appropriately and sent with the Similarity Report. Author Contributions and Conflict of Interests should be provided in the manuscript before the references. Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Authors' ethical responsibilities;
In accordance with the TR Index Journal Evaluation criteria, the following criteria regarding ethics committee permissions will be sought and applied in the articles sent to the Kocaeli University Journal of Social Sciences, which are mandatory for publications starting from 2020.
1- Research requiring Ethics Committee permission;
- All research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches, collecting data from participants using interview techniques such as experimental studies, questionnaires, observations, interviews, focus group work,
- Studies in which materials and data of humans and animals are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
- Clinical studies on humans,
Experimental or clinical research on animals,
- Retrospective (in accordance with the law on protection of personal data) studies
2- In addition;
- Obtaining and indicating permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires and photographs belonging to others,
- Stating that the copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used,
- In case presentations, it should be stated that the "Informed Consent Form" was obtained (Ethics committee permission is not required for case reports).
3- The authorization of the retrospective ethics committee is not required for articles produced from master's / doctoral studies before 2020 and using research data before 2020 (should be specified in the article).
4- In the submitted articles, in the light of the above information, if the permission of the ethics committee and / or legal / special permission is required, it should be clearly stated from which institution, on what date and with which decision or issue number the permission was obtained.
5- If the study requires the use of human and animal subjects, it must be declared that the study was carried out in accordance with international declaration, guideline, etc.
6- Researchers who are not members of the university can apply to the Ethics Committees in their regions.

The ethical responsibilities of referees;
Accepting the evaluation process of articles that do not have a conflict or conflict of interest, and not participate in the evaluation process of the article by declaring if there is a conflict of interest or conflict.
To consider only the content of the study in the process of evaluating the article.
To comply with the time period during the examination process, to complete it on time (Extension of time may be requested if necessary).
To protect the confidentiality of all information obtained about article and article authors.
Stating their comments in revision requests in a constructive language that helps to improve the quality of the article.

Ethical responsibilities of editors and vice editors;
Editors take care to meet the information needs of referees, authors and readers, to answer their questions when necessary, to act according to the principles of clarity in matters that require correction and explanation during the publication process.
When deciding on the publication of articles, editors take care that the articles are original, scientific, and contribute to readers, researchers and practitioners.
When making positive or negative decisions about articles, editors take into account the original value of the articles, their contribution to the field, the validity and reliability of the research method, the clarity of the statement and the scope of the journal.
• Editors take the submitted articles to the pre-evaluation stage unless they have a significant scientific problem.
• Editors follow the policies of blind review and evaluation process, which are among the publishing policies of the journal, keep the identities of the referees confidential, and endeavor to evaluate each article objectively and within the time limit.
• Editors send the articles by taking into account the expertise of the referees, and they take care to make the evaluations impartial and independent.
• Editors take into account whether there is a conflict of interest between the editors, referees and author (s) for unbiased evaluation of the article.
• Editors seek to ensure that the referee pool consists of a wide range and is constantly updated.
• Editors avoid unscientific evaluations that do not follow academic etiquette.
• Editors ensure that the journal publishing processes are operated in accordance with the publication policies and guidelines, inform their field of duty in the process about the developments in publication policies, and prepare training programs when necessary.
• Editors communicate with everyone involved in the publishing process and organize regular meetings.
• Editors ensure the protection of personal data in reviewed articles; protect individual data of authors, referees and readers.
• Editors; They pay attention to the protection of human and animal rights in the articles, they care about documenting the express consent of the participants of the article, the approval of the ethics committee of the participants of the article, and they reject the article when they do not have permission for experimental research.
• Editors; They take precautions against misconduct. When there are complaints about misconduct, they make an objective investigation and share their findings.
• Editors ensure that errors, inconsistencies or misdirections in the articles are corrected.
• Editors protect the intellectual property rights of published articles and defend the rights of the journal and the author (s) in case of violation. In addition, they take the necessary measures to ensure that the content of the published articles does not infringe the intellectual property rights of other publications; They do the authenticity-similarity check.
• Editors take into account the consistent criticism of the articles published in the Journal, and give the right to reply to the author (s) of the criticized articles.
• Editors also consider studies with negative results.
• Editors examine the complaints submitted to the Journal and make the necessary explanations.

For each article sent with a publication request; TL 200.00 is requested to cover the expenses in the evaluation process.
